• Engagement way below normal. 100K followers and 80 likes per post is the classic sign.
• Followers with no profile picture, no posts and random usernames like user8273641.
• Sudden overnight jumps in follower count with no viral post to explain it.
• Comments that don't match the post – "Nice pic 🔥" on a sad news post.
• Audience location mismatch – a Hindi creator with 70% of followers in Brazil.

Scroll the followers list and open 20 random profiles. If most are empty, the quality is low. Third-party audit tools estimate the share of suspicious followers too.

If you add followers, choose higher-quality plans with profile photos and posts, keep likes in proportion, and match the audience country to your content – for Indian content, use Indian followers.
